This project is easy to create and the addition of the ribbon rosette makes the towel extra special. If you have a wash basin, this towel is the perfect accent to spruce up the bath for summertime.
Step 1:
Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. This design was increased 25% for the project because the towel was a large fingertip towel. If increasing the design, do a test stitchout to be sure the design stitches as desired.

Step 2:
Fold the towel in half lengthwise and hoop the towel with the tearaway stabilizer.

Step 3:
Place the hoop on the machine and load the “Hydrangea Basin” embroidery design on the machine. Position the needle so that the bottom of the design is approximately ¾” above the band on the towel if there is one (or where you desire). Do a “check” to be sure the towel is aligned properly in the hoop and that the bottom of the design is positioned right where you want it.

Step 4:
Place a piece of water soluble topper on top of the towel and stitch the design following the color sequence.

Step 5:
After the design has finished stitching, the towel can be finished up and the ribbon rosette added.

Step 6:
Remove the towel from the hoop and remove the excess stabilizer. To remove the water soluble topper, move a steam iron in a circular motion holding the iron just above the topper and use shots of steam; the stabilizer will roll up into a ball. Remove the ball and steam the towel to remove any hoop marks.

Step 7:
To make the ribbon rosette, mark the 1 yard piece of ribbon every 2” using tailor’s chalk or another marking method that will show up on the ribbon.

Step 8:
Beginning at the right most mark, fold the ribbon in half at the mark and insert the needle and thread through both layers about 1/8” below the fold. Move to the next mark and repeat.

Step 9:
Repeat until all the marks have been stitched. Carefully pull on the thread to gather all the ends into one spot (there will be small tails left from the ends). Secure all the layers together with a few stitches on the back of the rosette.

This pretty towel adds charm to the corner of the bathroom and beautifully accents the colors in the pitcher and basin which were hand crafted by a talented friend.
