This project is simple to do yet adds a creative element to a special birthday gift whether made into a pin and inserted into a birthday card, or glued to a ribbon on a package or gift bag. While the ribbon is being stitched, the package can be wrapped. Shortly after the ribbon will have finished stitching and can be added to the packaging as a nice little keepsake of your thoughtfulness.
Step 1:
Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. Print out a copy of the color sequence to follow while stitching. An option is to match the thread colors to the gift bag or package wrapping to coordinate the ribbon to the paper.

Step 8:
Now, cut the felt and stabilizer to within a scant ¼” of the stitching as shown. Make the cuts smooth so there are no jagged edges.

Step 9:
Place the gift with gift wrapping inside the gift bag. Use the blue ribbon to tie a bow to the handle of the gift bag. Heat up the glue gun and then plan the placement of the ribbon. Place a small bead of hot glue on the ribbon (or optionally on the back of the ribbon).

Step 10:
Press and hold the back of the embroidery to the ribbon until the hot glue sets; allow the glue to cool and then check to be sure the embroidery is securely fixed to the ribbon.

Step 11:
For the Birthday Girl ribbon, simply use the hot glue to affix jewelry back to the backside of the embroidery. Place a bead of glue on the back of the embroidery, place down the finding, and hold it in place until the glue sets up. Allow the hot glue to cool completely. This is a great little gift to add to a birthday card for a special child or friend.
