Small gifts like this compact which is personalized with an embroidered initial will be a welcome gift for a holiday or birthday. Choose from the font suggested, or even use a small design that would fit within the opening. The compact comes apart and has magnets that hold the embroidered paper in place.
Step 1:
Gather the materials and read through the directions before beginning. The paper and compact may be available at your local dealership that sells embroidery supplies, or it may be ordered online by doing an internet search for “embroidery blank, compact mirror” and “embroidery paper”. Embroidery paper comes in many different colors and themes. Choose a paper themed for the receiver’s interest and thread to coordinate with the paper. For this project, the music themed paper was chosen.

Remove the compact from the box and from the case. The mirror opens up and the side opposite the mirror has a removable cover held on with magnets. Remove the cover and remove the inserts. The insert will be used to create the area for embroidery.

Step 4:
Quarter-fold the paper template and crease well. Open up the paper and mark the lines that intersect in the middle. The initial will be aligned with this mark at the machine.

Hoop a piece of tearaway stabilizer. Cut a piece of embroidery paper larger than the circle. Spray the back of the embroidery paper with temporary spray adhesive. Center the paper template on top of the hooped paper and lightly draw around the circle with a pencil. Load the chosen initial needed on the machine. Place the hoop on the machine and align the center of the design to the center of the template.
