Final Product: What You Will Create

    Step 1:
Hoop fabric and tear-away or permanent stabilizer along with a piece of felt in a 4 x 4 hoop.

    Step 2:
Stitch the entire design up to the final column stitch.

    Step 3:
Take out of the machine and attach a small piece of felt under the hoop covering the design.

    Step 4:
Lace the hoop back in and continue stitching out the design.

    Step 5:
When finished, unhoop and trim close to the design.

    Step 6:
There will be an opening at the bottom to insert the end of a pencil, straw or candy cane.

    Step 7:
If you would like to use these as straw toppers, it's best to insert a pencil or pen in the opening first to shape it for the straw. This will help prevent the top of the straw from bending when you put it into the topper.

    Meet The Author: Marlene Stewart
Hi, my name is Marlene Stewart. I was born in Indiana and really have a strange career path of - secretary at a brokerage firm in Chicago. I began teaching myself to digitize in 1992 after I purchased my first embroidery software and Brother PE150 embroidery machine since then I have upgraded software and machines. My husband is retired from the U.S. Air Force and I have a 36 year old son. My favorite part of the day is evening when my husband and I cuddle with a blanket and watch science fiction movies. I love digitizing, my husband calls it a love affair and admire the works of Thomas Kinkade.
